Sometimes you find yrself sitting in a local coffee shop listening to music you don't really care for, drinking delicious fair trade shade grown coffee and eating the most amazing bagel of your life and you think to yrself "man, it's been forever since I checked my livejournal", so you march over to the communal computers, stick in yr twenty five cents, and spill all yr secrets to a computer screen...
I have had an amazing summer. Had a car all summer which means lots of beach trips, nature walks, and wacky adventures. I've been continually schooled in metal, which has become one of my new passions. My house has been full of people for the past several monthes, which although annoying at times, is part of what makes my life so much fun! Lots of friends back in town, lots of house shows, making new connections, and harboring LOTS of new crushes... aww summer!
I still love being a Portlander- my house is coming upon it's one year anniversary! A rarity for todays Willett punk houses! I've been spending way too much money on delicious bar food... Fuck you Bye and Bye for being so close to my house! I have a sick sad confession to make- I'm in love with fixed gear bicycles... I know, they're trendy as fuck, not sensical, and overly popular especially with bike jock assholes, but goddamn is skidding/track standing fun! Honestly, give it a try sometime.
I'm going to California with Tommy at the end of the month- a week of traveling around, visiting friends, and having the time of my life. I look forward to seeing all the kids that have come to see us, and just hope I have enough time to visit with them all!
We had a god awful roommate who finally left last week. Life at Nudie Beach has been lots better since then. I let my kittens out of my room yesterday for the first time while we watched Wayne's World... they ran around the basement and jumped on max's shoulder lots... I've had pancake breakfasts with Justin two days in a row, which makes me have fantastic days!
I'm sorry to all of you that I've been neglecting.. .David especially. I've gotton really caught up in my Portland life and forget to call anyone who doesn't just stop by my house. Don't hesitate to give me a ring! I'm not working that much, and trying to keep my volunteering at a sane level, so I have no excuse not to hang out with folks. There's still lots of time before I go back to school (September 22nd), so we ought to kick it!

I'm living in Seattle full time, working part time at an irish pub, baking and cooking and prepping and washing and all that. I live with Joe and Loren and David Giles, and life is treating me well, albeit circular. I have access to free beer whenever i work, and access to cheap beer when i don't. I wake up, either work or don't work, see a friend or friends, drink a lot, and go to bed. I would like to find some new adventures amidst that, perhaps.
I am still totally single as I was in 6th grade, and maintaining celibacy with a healthy dose of computer games and sunshine.
My fifth visitor from NY (ever) is arriving in less than a month. That is so exciting, and I know much fun will be had.
What's up with you? Anybody still even use livejournal? |

Hypnoz - "Breath of Earth" CD (лим. 500)

Hypnoz – проект Дмитрия Зубова, музыканта из подмосковного города Фрязино, подарившего любителям постиндустриальной музыки такие имена как Hum и Staruha Mha. Его первая композиция была записана в 1993 году, а за всё время своего существования Hypnoz выпустил один CD на московском лейбле Insofar Vapour Bulk, вобравший в себя треки разных лет, пару мелкотиражных CDR-релизов, а также поучаствовал на сборнике "Iznutri" лейбла Ewers Tonkunst с фрагментом композиции с данного альбома. Кроме Hypnoz Дмитрий играет в ряде других проектов: Zuboff Sex Shop (пост-панк / нью-вэйв), Circle Of Iron Tape (харш-нойз), BRZB (электроника, совместно с Алексеем Борисовым), и др.
Основа большей части треков для "Breath of Earth" была записана Дмитрием вместе с Евгением Вороновским (Cisfinitum) во время совместных ночных психоделических сессий, что явно чувствуется в их настроении. Стилистически это можно назвать спокойным электронным эмбиентом с ярким экспериментальным подходом – хотя кто думает о таких вещах во время записи? Медленно закручивающиеся звуковые спирали, утягивающие за собой в астральные подпространства, пульсирующие ритмы, космическое звучание старых аналоговых синтезаторов, – всё вместе производит надлежащий эффект на психику слушателя, а больше от музыки ничего и не требуется.

ÜL - "III" CD-R (лим. 250)
ZHB-XVI
Проект ÜL был образован в 2006 году аргентинцами Аланом Кёртисом (Reynols), Фернандо Пералесом и Чарли Зарагоза. Они уже много раз выступали с концертами в Аргентине, а также выпустили два альбома: "Astropecuario" на шотландском лейбле Pjorn Records и "II" на аргентинском Facon Records. Это их третий диск, материал для которого был записан в 2007 году. Целью ÜL является исследование тембральных возможностей электрогитар своим собственным способом, сочетающим элементы шума, дроун-музыки, и свободной атональной импровизации. Их композиции погружают в абстрактный мир электромагнитного взаимодействия между акустической и электронной средой. Мир, насыщенный сырыми звуками вибрации струн, гулкими резонансами обратной связи, резкой работой усилителей-ограничителей и слоящимися отголосками эффектов.
